Wildlife

Terms of Reference

  • To provide a global platform for discussion, coordination, and data-sharing between key wildlife experts involved in influenza monitoring, management and research.
  • To provide early warning to stakeholders of emerging threats of influenza involving wildlife.
  • To provide OFFLU with technical expertise on influenza in wildlife.
  • To respond to specific technical requests on influenza involving wildlife.
  • To provide technical guidance to stakeholders on monitoring, management and research on influenza involving wildlife.
  • To proactively engage with other OFFLU groups and committees, ensuring the One Health approach.
  • To regularly review OFFLU’s guidance on monitoring, management and research priorities on influenza in wildlife.
  • To provide advice on preventing transmission of influenza from domestic and farmed animals and humans into wildlife and so protect wildlife health.
  • To provide technical guidance on managing influenza in such a way as to minimize detrimental impact on biodiversity and to maximize benefits to biodiversity.
